KIHEFO is a non profit governmental organization snuggling comfortably in the south west (Kabale) and north west (Arua) of the country providing projects aimed at fighting the big challenge brought about by ignorance,disease and poverty.

Our partners

General and Dental Clinic

The general clinic in Kabale Town serves as a primary healthcare facility, catering to patients from urban and rural areas. It is staffed by doctors and clinical staff who provide diagnosis, treatment, and referrals for complex cases. Equipped with advanced medical technologies such as x-ray, ultrasound, and lab testing, the clinic also houses a small dental clinic offering various dental services.


HIV/AIDS Clinic

KIHEFO HIV/AIDS clinic will provide Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), Care to HIV patients, testing and counseling, treatment of coinfection as well as nutritional supplements for malnourished patients. Since 2000, there are more than 6,000 registered People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in Southwestern Uganda.

KIHEFO Maternal & Child Health

The newly facility began operating in 2014 providing comprehensive care to expectant mothers and their children in partnership with MOH’s “Safe Motherhood Program” (SMP). Follow up of mothers through the mobile outreach program.


Nutrition & Rehabilitation Center

The Nutrition & Rehabilitation Center will provide for children under five who are diagnosed with severe malnutrition. Children who are treated for SAM will stay at the center with their parents as they receive medical care and nutritional rehabilitation. Nutritional Assessments will be held each month to evaluate ongoing nutritional KIHEFO STRATEGIC PLAN 2018-2023 status. In addition, KIHEFO will provide a pair of rabbit to who are experiencing cases for malnutrition so that the rabbit can be reared and generate income to feed their children.

Community Outreach Health Clinic

KIHEFO will provide general health services (HIV/AIDS testing and care, dental screening, cervical cancer screening, ART distribution to Registered People Living with HIV (PLHIV), STI, nutrition education, and contraceptive implant). Since 2007, KIHEFO started with an average of seven outreach services per month providing services for more than 900 people per month including screening an average of 140 per month. KIHEFO and partners will travel to hard to reach rural villages to continue to provide these outreach services to low-income individuals. 7.0 KIHEFO: FIVE YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN 2018-2023 OVERALL GOAL To improve the health status of population.

Big bus project

Work to secure an 48 seated bus to help facilitate logistics and transportation activities and expand the outreach programs. KIHEFO current van seating capacity is limited to 16 passengers per two vans.

Call Center and Motorcycle Stretcher Project
 Establish a medical emergency hotline in Southwestern Uganda. This call center will assist patients with extreme cases and some unexpected injuries. Modify motorcycles to serve as stretchers to reach rural areas. Motorcycle Ambulance project.

Scale up Targeted HIV testing with the implementation of Youth Empowerment Project.
Increase HIV testing in youth by implementing an educational film series to build capacity and educate individuals. Establish youth center and will be hosting two to three events per month during this film series and will provide HIV testing.  Introduce sustainable agriculture farming to impacted youth to generate income. Vegetable growing ,Bee keeping, Rabbit rearing, carpentry skills, Metal work fabrication Skills, Small engines maintenance skills Eg Motorcycles, Generators etc.
